The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) is a leading international provider of accredited and recognised health and safety, environmental and risk management qualifications. The NEBOSH National General Certificate meets the academic requirements for Techician membership (TechIOSH) of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Associate membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).

What kind of people take the NEBOSH National Construction Certificate?

The NEBOSH National Construction Certificate is aimed at Supervisors, Managers and CDM co-ordinators within the construction industry who are required to ensure that activities under their control are undertaken safely. It is likely to prove useful for those concerned with the management of buildings who may need to ensure that contractors are working safely. The qualification is also appropriate for supervisors and managers working in other industries such as utilities, and even broadcasting, where temporary workplaces are a feature of their activities.

Is this qualification recognised?

The qualification meets the academic requirements for Technician Membership (Tech IOSH) of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Associate membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).

NEBOSH Construction Health and Safety Conversion Course

To convert your Nebosh General to NEBOSH Construction Certificate

Please note that Unit NGC1 also forms part of the NEBOSH National General Certificate or Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management. Delegates who have already achieved this Unit as part of either qualification within the last five years can count it towards achieving their National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety and can be exempted from week 1 and just attend weeks 2 and 3. Unit A of the National Diploma achieved within the last five years can also count towards the NGC1 but the result for this Unit is capped at a pass grade.

Candidates for NCC1 and NCC2 are required to send a copy of their current certificate, either by post or email, to confirm eligibility for this exemption.
